As the Coronation of King Charles approaches closer, London is shining like never before. The last coronation that the country witnessed was in 1953. While it has certainly been a long time since then in the calendars, it has been an even longer time if you compare the rituals and traditions of then and now. However, the coronation ceremony, owing to its spiritual significance, more or less remains the same. And England cannot wait to witness the very magical moment that marked the reign of the late Queen Elizabeth repeat itself with King Charles.

Despite the processions being majorly identical to the last one, there are plenty of changes that one cannot ignore. For instance, a crucial monarch who is also the fifth in line to the throne and King Charles’ dear son may not attend the ceremony. However, this has not restrained the pomp surrounding the upcoming coronation in any way as the nation gets decorated with banners of King Charles’ head upholding the crown.

The significance of the Coronation does not stop at the fact that it marks the reign of a new monarch. King Charles’ coronation will be just as politically significant and spiritually rooted as Queen Elizabeth’s held numerous decades ago. Each ruler that takes on the throne has their own unique crown.

As reported by the official Royal website earlier, King Charles will be bestowed with the St. Edward Crown on the 6th of May. However, banners of his silhouette wearing the Crown are already adorning Russell Square.
