According to What’s on Netflix, Better Call Saul will depart, in full, on April 18th, 2027, in the USA. This date coincides exactly four years following the final season hitting the platform, which is a standard period for licensed content.
Once this period of time expires, it will be up to the streaming services Apple TV, Amazon Video, Fandango at Home, and Hulu. The news of departure from Netflix USA has further made international viewers wonder if their access to the series will remain permanent.
As per What’s on Netflix, despite being labeled as an original production in many territories, the show will not stay on the platform outside the United States forever.
Better Call Saul is a spin-off of Breaking Bad. It deals with the story of a struggling public defender named Jimmy McGill, who undergoes a moral decline as he becomes entangled with the dangerous cartels of Albuquerque. This transformation leads him to adopt the persona of Saul Goodman, a flamboyant lawyer who prioritizes profit over the law.
Behind the scenes of this legal drama lie secrets that shaped the masterpiece viewers see today, some more intriguing than others.
Surprising truths about Better Call Saul
The writers of Breaking Bad often joked about creating a spin-off centered on the eccentric lawyer. Vince Gilligan noted that they loved writing for the character so much that it started as a lark.
"We would come up with some great term or phrase, and we would laugh about it in the writers' room," Gilligan stated to Uproxx. They eventually realized the potential for a full series.
The name Saul Goodman was chosen because it phonetically sounds like the phrase is all good. The episode titles often contain hidden meanings or linguistic patterns. For example, the first letters of the episodes in the second season unscramble to reveal a major character return.

The series was originally considered a half-hour comedy. Producers contemplated a format where a different famous comedian would seek legal help from Saul every single week. The writers did not initially intend for Chuck McGill to be an antagonist. It was not until the seventh episode of the first season that they realized his role as a villain.
"The idea of Chuck being the bad guy was a late addition to Season 1," Gilligan explained to Uproxx. This shift highlights how television narratives can evolve during the production process. While Bob Odenkirk is all in for a revival of the show on just one condition, fans should catch up with the seasons as soon as they can before they bid adieu to Netflix.
