Michael Scofield’s tattoos may promise precision, yet Netflix is far less sentimental. Come January, the platform’s annual housecleaning will escort Prison Break politely, and firmly, out the digital door.

When, exactly, does Netflix pull the plug, how many days remain before Prison Break disappears behind locked streaming bars?

The beloved series Prison Break is scheduled to depart Netflix on January 29, 2026, ending its current streaming run, as per Tudum. After its departure, the series will be available exclusively on Hulu and the Disney+ bundle for viewers in the United States. International fans can continue to stream the brothers’ journey on Disney+

This intense drama follows Michael Scofield, a brilliant engineer who intentionally gets himself incarcerated to save his brother. Michael devises an elaborate plan to break Lincoln Burrows out of death row before his execution for a crime he did not commit.

The show features a stellar ensemble cast led by Wentworth Miller as the tactical Michael Scofield. Dominic Purcell portrays his brother Lincoln, while Sarah Wayne Callies plays the compassionate prison doctor, Sara Tancredi. Prison Break stands as one of the many beloved titles leaving Netflix.

Beyond the prison walls, a massive wave of cinema favorites will disappear much sooner.

What else is leaving Netflix in January?

A massive selection of films will exit the service on January 1, including Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Baby Driver. Blockbuster hits like Crazy Rich Asians, Mad Max: Fury Road, and The Martian are also on the chopping block. Even classics such as Dirty Dancing, Ghost, and Scarface will no longer be available once the new year arrives.

The removal continues through the month with the departure of Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story on January 2. The acclaimed hacker drama Mr. Robot will follow shortly after, leaving the platform on January 3. Fans of young adult dystopian stories should note that the entire The Maze Runner trilogy is set to exit on January 9.

Later in the month, subscribers will lose access to Confessions of a Shopaholic on January 16 and Donnie Darko on January 18. The month of exits concludes with the departure of House of Lies on January 23. This sweeping removal represents one of the largest library rotations the streaming giant has executed in recent months.
