Twisted Yoga is a three-part investigative documentary series released in 2026 to expose a dangerous multinational tantric yoga cult. Despite the high interest from fans, viewers cannot stream it on Netflix. It is an Apple TV+ original documentary produced by Lightbox  in association with Ladywell Films and released globally on March 13, 2026. The series follows former members who searched for wellness but were slowly indoctrinated into a cult-like organization.

The documentary focuses on the Movement for the Spiritual Integration into the Absolute, which is also known as the Atman Yoga Federation. Gregorian Bivolaru, a Romanian guru, led the group despite facing decades of legal battles. This documentary remains a staple for those interested in the darker side of fitness culture.

Dark secrets of Hot Yoga

Netflix features prominent fitness documentaries, one of which is titled Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator, which explores the rise and fall of Bikram Choudhury. He popularized the Hot Yoga movement globally, building a massive fitness empire that attracted numerous celebrities and dedicated followers. The film reveals how his ninety-minute routine in high heat became a backdrop for psychological control.

The documentary provides first-hand accounts from women who accuse the founder of assault during teacher-training sessions. These demonstrations illustrate the dark side of a movement that once promised health and vitality to thousands.

Despite losing multi-million dollar lawsuits in the United States, Choudhury eventually fled the country to avoid payments and legal consequences. The dark reality of the yoga industry is that charismatic leaders often hide behind the promise of enlightenment to manipulate their followers. While Twisted Yoga and the Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator exposé offer similar warnings, their availability on different streaming services is a key distinction for viewers.
