Ron Taylor recently sat down for a conversation on The Isaac Abrams Show. When the host asked about his unique comedy style and inspirations, he named several legends, including Bernie Mac, Patrice O’Neal, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Louis C.K., Paul Mooney, and Richard Pryor. He also shared that his academic background had a role in shaping his comedy. Having studied engineering, robotics, and advanced mathematics, Taylor took the same scientific approach used for his education to his comedic style.

“So, when I went into comedy I had the same right sensibility or you know I would use this so like I would look at jokes like that like it was a science right,” he added.

This was nearly three years ago, when he performed on Don’t Tell Comedy. During that time, he closely studied the craft, trying to understand what truly makes people laugh. And it is safe to say that the approach paid off. He went on to win Funny AF with Kevin Hart, a show that toured across the nation to find the deserving winner. Throughout the season, he proved his mettle, showing some of the best from his comedy arsenal.
