Across these films, McAdams has effortlessly moved between romance, suspense, and comedy.

With a career that spans heartfelt dramas, sharp comedies, gripping thrillers, and superhero epics, her resume is packed with gems. Fortunately, several of those movies are currently available to stream on Netflix.

And during this journey, Margaret finds support in her mother, Barbara Simon, and her grandmother, Sylvia.

Rachel McAdams played the role of Barbara in this coming-of-age comedy-drama film based on Judy Blume’s novel. To play this role, McAdams had even turned to the author to learn more about her character. This movie, available to stream on Netflix, is a heartwarming must-watch.

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020)

Released in 2020, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga is a Netflix musical drama film. Starring Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams. The movie follows two small-town Icelandic friends, Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdóttir, who usually perform at their local bar. However, things take a turn when they get an unexpected shot at representing their country at Eurovision with their band Fire Saga.

Although the movie received mixed reviews from critics, it was praised for its music and well-timed comedy.

Mean Girls (2004)

The classic Mean Girls follows teenage girl Cady Heron, who moves from Africa to a public high school. As she tries to make friends, Heron also joins popular girls, The Plastics. However, the trouble begins when she falls in love with Aaron Samuels, the ex-boyfriend of the leader of The Plastic Regina George.

Aloha, which was released in 2015, is about a former Air Force officer, Brian Gilcrest, who returns to Hawaii to help a billionaire launch a private satellite while negotiating with Native Hawaiian leaders. Through this project, he also reunites with his ex-girlfriend Tracy and grows close to Air Force pilot Allison Ng, played by Emma Stone. Along the way, he uncovers secret dangers in the satellite project, and he is left to make choices that affect love, loyalty, and safety. 

Rachel McAdams plays the role of Tracy Woodside, Gilcrest’s ex-girlfriend, who is married and has two kids but hides a crucial secret about their daughter. This time, she played a complex role and nailed it, too.

The Vow (2012)

The Vow is about Paige Collins, who loses all memory of her marriage after a severe car accident, leaving her estranged from her husband, Leo. As she struggles to reconcile her past and present, her husband is left to fight to rekindle their love. This is a complicated and heartwarming love story.

Rachel McAdams, who has blessed her fans with several rom-coms, plays the role of Paige. And yet again, she managed to show a refreshing and brilliant performance as Paige.
