Mere Days After 6 ‘Rebel Moon’ Movies Claim, Zack Snyder’s Second Netflix Flick Bombed to Shambles

Zack Snyder is known as one of the most sought–after directors in Hollywood presently. Yet, his film slate for Netflix seems to be going downhill despite his nod for a bigger future for Rebel Moon’s saga. When Rebel Moon- Part One: A Child of Fire was released on the streamer, fans majorly felt that the movie was not up to scratch. Now, mirroring similar reactions for Rebel Moon- Part Two: The Scargiver, it seems that the second chapter of the chronicle has also failed to eclipse, leaving doubts for the rest.

In a recent interview with RadioTimes, Snyder revealed his plans to release "four or six movies," laying the groundwork for a potential Rebel Moon franchise. Despite the lukewarm reception, he appeared steadfast in his vision. However, with the first two parts now released, reviews on Rotten Tomatoes show a sharp decline from 21% to 13%, marking them as Snyder's lowest-rated films to date. While fans were already dissatisfied with the initial installment, many were puzzled by the perceived decline in quality of the sequel.

The director told the publication how the second part is positioned to answer the cliffhangers of the first installment while further divulging how he has already readied the story of the third film in queue despite it lacking a green light. Snyder also confessed how his fans could be “disappointed” if the story of Rebel Moon had been cut short. However, with the reviews nodding otherwise, it makes one ponder if he will remain committed to his plans.

Netflix Hypes up the Trailer Drop of Zack Snyder’s ‘Rebel Moon – Part Two’ With a Poster

Fans online were divided on multiple fronts since many of them could not understand the reason behind the decline, while others did not leave the opportunity to crack a joke or two.

Fans show mixed reactions with Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon’s ratings

Despite being one of the most expensive offerings by Netflix, when Rebel Moon-Part One: A Child of Fire hit the streamers, the tone of reception did not make as much buzz as did its teasers. Similarly, for the second part, when fans noted the steep fall in the ratings, fans could not make out the reason behind its “hype”. However, others also sympathized with Snyder by reminding them to never judge a book by its cover, where, by the cover, they meant ratings.

Yet, the ones who failed to overlook the ratings did not even leave the chance to jab at Snyder’s fandom. However, labeling the released ones as an outright failure did not sit well with fans.

Considering the stellar contributions he has made to the industry, reconciling this with the current situation proved challenging. Some agreed with the critical reviews, drawing from personal experiences, while others offered positive assessments. Nevertheless, the discourse was disheartening for devoted Snyder enthusiasts, as was the news itself. However, with Snyder's unwavering commitment to advancing Rebel Moon's narrative, there remains a glimmer of hope amidst the gloom and fans seem to be holding on to that for now.
