Jennifer Lopez’s $100M Netflix Thriller Sparks Blake Lively’s It Ends With Us Déjà Vu

Hollywood has rarely seen a movie fallout spiral quite like the It Ends With Us drama. What began with internet rumors surrounding the August 2024 premiere escalated into a bitter, multi-million-dollar legal war between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni that dragged on for nearly two years. The feud shook Hollywood and kept the spotlight fixed on every new development. Now, Jennifer Lopez’s Netflix thriller The Last Mrs. Parrish is stirring déjà vu, at least on the creative-clash front.
The $100 million production is drawing attention for reported creative tensions, bringing back uncomfortable memories of Hollywood’s most closely watched celebrity feud.
Jennifer Lopez's Netflix thriller reportedly under creative clash
Hollywood may have found itself another post-production headache, and this time, Jennifer Lopez is at the center of the storm. According to a report by Page Six, the singer and actress is reportedly clashing with director Robert Zemeckis over the final cut of their upcoming $100 million Netflix thriller, The Last Mrs. Parrish. After the It Ends With Us saga, Hollywood could be watching another creative disagreement spiral into something much bigger.
The reported tension allegedly intensified after the thriller tested poorly with audiences, prompting Jennifer Lopez to push for changes in the editing room. Her preferred direction is said to differ from Robert Zemeckis’s original vision, putting the collaborators at odds over the film’s final shape. However, competing accounts paint Lopez’s involvement differently, with some sources framing it as a takeover and others suggesting an attempt to salvage the project.

Page Six’s report has also drawn comparisons to Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s bitter It Ends With Us fallout, which turned competing creative visions into a prolonged public and legal battle. Still, Netflix, Jennifer Lopez, and Robert Zemeckis have reportedly pushed back against claims of discord, calling the reporting “categorically false” and insisting the filmmakers are working in unison. For now, the alleged drama remains disputed.
While Jennifer Lopez’s love life takes a turn from fantasy to reality, her career has hit its own plot twist as Netflix pushes back against Page Six’s report about her latest thriller.
Netflix's response to The Last Mrs. Parrish rumors
Netflix has not left much room for speculation about how it views the reports surrounding Jennifer Lopez’s upcoming thriller. Responding to claims that The Last Mrs. Parrish performed poorly in test screenings, a studio spokesperson told Page Six that “the film tested well, particularly with fans of Jennifer.” The streamer subsequently joined Lopez and director Robert Zemeckis in issuing a joint denial of the alleged editing-room feud.

The trio reportedly told Page Six that the claims were “categorically false,” adding that any suggestion the filmmakers were not working in unison was “without merit.” However, with the $100 million thriller not expected to arrive until 2027, the production remains under scrutiny. For now, Netflix is firmly rejecting the reported discord, even as the comparisons to Blake Lively’s It Ends With Us saga linger.
