More than two decades ago, the adult animated series Family Guy arrived on TV with its hilarious jokes and sharp opinions. While it quickly found its way into people’s hearts, the show was cancelled after three seasons in 2002. Fortunately, massive DVD sales revived it for another season. Weathering cancellations and criticism over the years, the show has continued to go strong ever since. 

Now in its 24th season, there is still curiosity in streaming the show online, and people are wondering whether it is available on Netflix.

Unfortunately, the adult animated sitcom Family Guy is not available to stream on Netflix. However, all seasons of the show, including the latest, are available on Hulu. For those who do not have access to Hulu, the series can also be rented on Amazon Prime.

The sitcom features the dysfunctional Griffin family, following Peter, Lois, Chris, Meg, and Stewie. In April 2025, the show was confirmed to return for at least four more seasons. Later, in March 2026, a second spin-off series focused on Stewie was announced, along with a confirmed two-season order.

In an interview with The Wrap, creator Seth MacFarlane shared that the show continues to thrive and will keep running. Reflecting on its long journey, he noted that it has been more than 20 years since the show first aired. He even admitted that he now has only a vague memory of some of the episodes he created over the years.

"I’ll go back and I’ll look at a show and I have a vague memory of making it, and it’s an odd kind of—you’re faced with the reality of the passage of time that, at some point in the past, this episode, this scene, this moment, frame-by-frame, was so important that I had to get it exactly right and now I can’t even remember what happens next," he said.

More recently, MacFarlane also revealed the intense effort that goes into producing the show.

Seth MacFarlane recently spoke about the making of Family Guy. He revealed that each 22-minute installment of the animated show takes nearly 10 months to produce, including the writing, animation, and much more. To keep things running smoothly, the team works on multiple episodes simultaneously. 

Apart from Family Guy, MacFarlane has also previously discussed his other animated series, Ted, explaining that each episode costs as much as an Avengers movie. This high production cost is one of the reasons why Ted Season 3 has not yet been confirmed. Fortunately, despite the challenges to create Family Guy, the production has not slowed down and continues to run strong.
