One Piece anime shocked everyone with a sudden shift from the weekly format to a seasonal format, meaning from 2026 onwards, only limited episodes will air (maximum 26) per year. This change came after following the same weekly format for nearly 26 years, and was mainly done to prevent the anime catching up to the manga, which is currently in the Elbaph arc. So, the seasonal format helps with better pacing of the anime without having to worry about the manga. But now the wait is almost over.

The Elbaph arc is ready to be released soon, and anticipation is building around streaming details for the new season.

One Piece’s Elbaph arc will not be coming to Netflix like the Egghead arc, not until April 11. The second season of the anime is scheduled to be released on April 5 on Crunchyroll. A press release from the platform in February confirmed the release date of the second season of the anime. It has also recently added the English dubbed version of episodes 1,144 to 1,155, completing the Egghead arc.

One Piece's Elbaph Arc anime adaptation will follow a simulcast release schedule, streaming starting from April 5 on Crunchyroll. Then, it will be released on Netflix on April 11. The Elbaph Arc, which is currently in the endgame in Eiichiro Oda's original One Piece manga, follows Monkey D. Luffy and his group of Straw Hats as they visit the much-awaited island of Elbaph, the home of the Giants.

Based on the previous schedule, we can safely presume that One Piece Elbaph Arc will begin airing its episodes weekly at the same time slot as the original anime, which is 11:15 PM Japan Standard Time every Sunday, after it is released on April 5, 2026. But there is a chance that the timings might be changed for the new season, given that other seasonal anime might already be using that time frame.

With the streaming details out of the way now, the only thing to discuss remains the plot of the Elbaph arc and what we might get to see this season.

The Straw Hat Crew set off for a fabled destination on Elbaph Island following a risky escape from Egghead Island. Imu and the World Government have now made the Straw Hat Pirates their exclusive objective, and as a result, the giants as well. The story of the Rocks Pirates, the rich legend of the giants, the prophecy about Loki, and the struggle between the Straw Hats and the Holy Knights will all be important themes in the Elbaph Arc.  

The Elbaph Arc is full of moments, from eliminating the most powerful unit of the Holy Land to displaying power beyond comprehension. The anime keeps giving fans reasons to stay hooked, like the recent update on the One Piece anime remake. The anime, thus, thrives in the One Piece franchise, with different projects in the works and anime resuming with the much-anticipated Elbaph arc on Crunchyroll, and eventually, Netflix.
