The Banana Fish anime series was first released on July 5, 2018, and it was beautifully animated and produced by the acclaimed animation house MAPPA. The studio is well-known for other massive hits, including Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan: The Final Season, and Chainsaw Man. Now, eager American fans are celebrating the news that this gripping thriller is headed to Netflix with a brand-new audio presentation.

The highly acclaimed anime adaptation of a beloved classic manga is finally expanding its global streaming footprint.

Netflix announced through its official X account that the 2018 anime series Banana Fish arrives on the platform in the United States on August 12. This anticipated streaming release will feature exclusive, brand-new English and French-language dubs for audiences. This distribution strategy allows entirely new viewer demographics to experience the legendary narrative smoothly.

The newly announced English vocal cast features Brandon McInnis voicing the brilliant gang leader Ash Lynx. Concurrently, Jonathan Tanigaki will portray his close Japanese companion Eiji Okumura. For the international French presentation, voice actors Sébastien Baulain and Grégory Laisné will voice the main characters, respectively, throughout the gritty 24-episode run.

The story follows young Ash Lynx after being raised by an infamous New York gangster named Dino Golzine. As an adult, Ash commands his own street gang and fights to prevent Dino from capturing a mysterious, insanity-inducing drug, which can be witnessed by the new audience, as announced by Netflix. Created originally by Akimi Yoshida, the animated adaptation stars Makoto Furukawa and Yuma Uchida.
