Jujutsu Kaisen fans have waited a long time since the devastating episodes of the Shibuya Incident arc. Finally, the popular anime series following high schooler Yuji Itadori is back with Season 3, which will focus on the Culling Game arc. However, the events before this arc can be just as confusing as they are intense. One such is when Gojo Satoru’s most promising student, Yuta Okkotsu, appears to turn against Yuji Itadori and even attempts to kill him.

While fans are confused about Yuta’s true intention, the powerful jujutsu sorcerer has a different motive altogether.

During Yuta Okkotsu’s confrontation with Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen, he seriously injures the latter. However, Yuta Okkotsu’s intention was not to kill Yuji Itadori. After the Shibuya Incident, the Jujutsu higher-ups reinstate Yuji Itadori’s execution order because he remains the vessel of Sukuna. To carry it out, they appoint a special-grade sorcerer, Yuta Okkotsu.

During the fight, Yuta had to pretend to execute Yuji because he had entered a binding vow with Jujutsu Headquarters, agreeing to kill Yuji. But what the higher-ups did not know was that he could use the Reverse Cursed Technique. That is how Yuta immediately healed Yuji.

Later, Yuji revealed that Satoru Gojo had visited him in Africa and asked him to protect the next generation, especially Yuji. Moreover, as a young sorcerer who was once close to being executed himself, Yuta wanted to protect Yuji Itadori.
