In the sweeping universe of anime, only a few dark stories juggle mystery, madness, and chaos seamlessly like Gachiakuta. Presenting a new-gen shonen, the anime breaks barriers of thought and expectations. It depicts abandoned objects and neglected individuals as they experience the same terrifying fate.

The series wraps viewers into its gritty and dark visual style and thrilling fight sequences in an unpredictable journey that unfolds over time. But the question is, where shall one expect the dystopian action anime to stream? To be on Netflix or not to be?

Since the streamer flaunts its own collection of swashbuckling anime, Gachiakuta comes with such great ratings of its own that any anime platform would wish for.

Where is Gachiakuta available for streaming?

Gachiakuta, adapted from the manga by Kei Urana, premiered in July 2025 and quickly gained attention for its graffiti-inspired visuals and intense story. It streams on Netflix only in specific Asian countries such as Japan, Singapore, and the Philippines, so viewers experience varied access levels based on their geographic location.

Crunchyroll provides anime access to most global viewers who reside in the US, India, Europe, and more since the platform began airing the episodes with subtitles and dubbed content on July 6, 2025. US users subscribed to Netflix, Disney+, or Amazon Prime cannot watch the series consistently on any platform but Crunchyroll.

With 24 episodes, the anime currently holds an 8.0/10 rating on IMDb and has emerged as one of last year's biggest hits. It earned a solid reception among critics and fans, earning 100% positive critic reviews from a small sample on Rotten Tomatoes. The dark-fantasy anime stood out among its peers by virtue of its intense action, mind-boggling storyline, and wild imagery.

What to expect from the plot of Gachiakuta?

Gachiakuta brings a new animated dystopian dimension to garbological narratives with its unique social commentary through a world built entirely around waste. Rudo, the protagonist of the story, must navigate through The Pit, which serves as a vast wasteland under the floating city of the affluent. After people falsely charge him with murder, he joins a group of fighters who possess special abilities to fight against dangerous trash monsters.
