A day after releasing her new single, Willow Smith got candid about the insecurities she faces with expressing herself as a music artist.

Willow Smith Provides Insight Into the Insecurities She Grapples With as a Music Artist

The sole motive of an artist everywhere should be authentic self-expression,
with little regard for external opinions. Sure, in a perfect world maybe. In the
real world, however, artists, no matter their level of fame, crave validation.
And sometimes this hunger can even carry more weight for them than their
financial success or prior accomplishments. Many times, this triggers
self-doubts and vulnerabilities that often remain hidden from the public eye.
However, Willow Smith [https://www.netflixjunkie.com/tag/willow-smith/] made it
a point to convey to her fans that everything in the limelight is not rosy.

The 23-year-old recently took a brave step forward to shed light on her
insecurities as an artist.

WILLOW SMITH OPENED UP ABOUT THE “COMPLEX THINGS” SHE DEALS WITH

Willow Smith did an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone
[https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/willow-smith-alone-single-interview-1234869424/],
where she talked about her new single ‘Alone’, which explores the emotional
turbulence and daunting thoughts that have colored her life. When the
interviewer inquired about Willow Smith’s way of communicating her musical
ideas, the singer admitted being “insecure” about effectively conveying her
thoughts in a way that every musician in the world could truly connect with. The
‘Whip My Hair’ singer also accepted the fact that her “understanding of music
theory isn’t 100 percent.”

Willow Smith, however, took pride in daring to take on such a complex song,
pushing her boundaries in terms of language and expression. ‘Alone’, which hit
the airwaves on Friday, marks the first solo since Willow Smith’s fifth studio
album, ‘Coping Mechanism’. In the same interview, Willow Smith also discussed
her equation with her mom, Jada Pinkett Smith

for improving her bond with her mother.

ALONE PLAYED A ROLE IN IMPROVING WILLOW SMITH’S RELATIONSHIP WITH JADA PINKETT
SMITH

The Smith family has currently been through a rollercoaster of events. With Jada
Pinkett Smith dropping bombshells through her memoir, Worthy, the family found
itself at the heart of controversies. As per a close source, Jada’s shocking
revelations took a toll on the children

and they felt bad for their father. However, given Willow’s recent interview, it
seems like the mother-daughter bond is still intact. Willow shared that
composing her new single made her more compassionate towards Jada. It allowed
her to see Jada in a different light.

“I really started loving her with so much more tenderness and way less
expectations,” shared the ‘Lately I Feel Everything’ creator. While it is not
possible to comment on the current state of Will Smith

heartwarming to see that both parents have their child’s support in difficult
times. With ‘Alone’ released, fans would hopefully get a deeper insight into
Willow Smith’s vulnerabilities and how she chose to express them.
