Who Has Won the Most Number of VMAs? Recounting the Legend of Beyoncé

MTV Video Music Awards have always remained a highlight event for music lovers
every year. Now, when the 2023 session is around the corner, the hype has been
majorly taking over the internet. Fans have marked the time and date on their
calendars so they do not miss streaming this star-studded festival, considering
here fans decide winners by putting their votes for beloved singers except some
categories. While many artists have created history at the VMAs, there is
Beyoncé, a pop legend who fans are excited to see this year at the show.

But before the day arrives on the television screens, fans have plenty of time
to cherish the moments this event has given them. Including the most honored
artist in the history of VMAs and victories of Hollywood’s Queen Bey in the past
years.

WHO HAS WON THE MOST MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS EVER?

It is hard to compare the incredible talents that the music industry has got in
the past decades. But in this sea of talent, there always comes one such face
who stands out of the crowd and makes history. And Beyoncé was one of those
icons who bagged all the major awards that this world had to offer. She even
left behind the queen of pop Madonna who ruled the list of top MTV VMAs
recipients with 20 awards for years.

Glass” Costume Institute Benefit Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May

The 42-year-old takes the crown as the artist with the most VMAs, which might
not come easy for any singer to surpass. Considering she has taken home 29
awards during her career, which is expanding to date. She won for various songs,
including ‘Say My Name’, ‘Naughty Girl’, ‘Countdown’, and ‘Formation’. Not only
that, but she also received the honor of the Video Vanguard Award, which artists
like Kanye West [https://www.netflixjunkie.com/tag/kanye-west], Rihanna, and
Jennifer Lopez, to name a few.

RECOUNTING BEYONCE’S VMA JOURNEY

There is a reason the ‘Baby Boy’ singer is famous as The Stage Slayer. Over the
last two decades, she has transformed into the greatest showstopper that this
planet could have. She has given fans some of the most memorable performances,
enchanting fans with her surreal voice and baffling dance moves. Since the MTV
VMAs are approaching fast, it would be unfair to not recall one of her iconic
moments on that stage. So this takes us to the 2014 award ceremony where she
shut down the VMAs with her 16-minute medley.

This performance of the Texas native included songs from her self-titled ’13
album. It was flawless, the way she seamlessly shifted from one track to
another, enrapturing the audience with her charm. In fact, most of her fans even
think today that the pop icon’s performance was equivalent to a lifetime
achievement award. Unfortunately, fans did not get the chance to watch her last
year on the stage or in the front row of the ceremony.

WHY DID BEYONCÉ NOT ATTEND MTV VMA 2022?

In 2022, the Grammy winner received a nomination for her explosive single ‘Break
My Soul’ for Song of the Summer. Despite that, the megastar did not become a
part of the festivities. It happened because the singer took time off to spend
quality time with her children and husband Jay-Z. The outlet TMZ captured the
couple relaxing on a yacht while their kids enjoying the view of the blue sea
with their nannies. In fact, this is not the only time she skipped VMAs and has
not attended it since 2016 when she won 8 awards among 11 nominations.

Fashion” Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 5, 2014

In recent years, Beyoncé has been selective about what awards she should attend.
Even if the billionaire couple attends a ceremony, they try to keep it low-key
and opt out of red-carpet walks. Fans might not get to know why the artist has
been staying away from the spotlight, but this year she might not escape it.
Considering the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards has brought the chance for her to
add another accolade to his long list of victories.

BEYONCE’S 2023 VMA NOMINATIONS

Fans know that Taylor Swift has made history with the 2023 VMA Nominations, but
she has big contenders to face this time. The ‘Lover’ singer will go
head-to-head in four total categories with Beyoncé. The mother of three was
first nominated for the Artist of the Year. But the new reports rolled out on
September 1 revealed she has also received three nods in the social categories.
It includes a show of the summer, a song of summer, and an album of the year.

So this has put her in a tie with the 33-year-old who has been turning the world
of fans upside down with Eras Tour

This also means that she will be a part of the event this year. And who knows,
maybe she shows off her incredible musical prowess on the stage that fans have
long awaited. The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards will be live on Tuesday, Sept. 12,
at 8 p.m. ET/PT from Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
