US fintech powerhouse PayPal has abruptly pulled out of Wireless Festival, erasing its branding from this year's event and all future ones due to Kanye West, now known as Ye, topping the bill. The decision marks the third major brand to distance itself, following soda giant Pepsi and spirits leader Diageo, maker of Guinness and Johnnie Walker, who cited concerns over West's controversial history.

Festival organizers are yet to address the moves but have insisted the event presses on for July 10-12, 2026 at London's Finsbury Park, a staple of UK summer music since 2005, blending hip-hop, grime, R&B, and electronic vibes. Despite the corporate snub, Wireless boasts a powerhouse roster to draw massive crowds.

As brands distance themselves from the festival, high-level figures in the UK are raising their voices in strong opposition too.

The UK Prime Minister, Kier Stramer, has voiced strong alarm over Kanye West's headline slot at Wireless Festival, labeling it "deeply troubling" given West's track record of antisemitic outbursts and overt nods to Nazi ideology. In a pointed statement to The Sun, the PM said,

“Antisemitism in any form is abhorrent and must be confronted firmly wherever it appears. Everyone has a responsibility to ensure Britain is a place where Jewish people feel safe.”

Prominent voices in Britain's Jewish community are echoing this outrage as well, pushing for a full ban on West entering the country. Phil Rosenberg, head of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, decried the festival's choice as a grave misstep, insisting the government block his visa outright.

Karen Pollock, chief of the Holocaust Educational Trust, highlighted the widespread pain rippling through Jewish circles, triggered by the West's repeated antisemitic rants and Hitler endorsements. With calls mounting for intervention, the controversy threatens to overshadow Wireless's lineup and test the limits of Kanye West's phoenix-like rise from cancellation.
