The Weeknd and Ariana Grande have worked together many times over the years. Their first collaboration was on the song ‘Love Me Harder,’ which came out in 2014. It was a part of Grande’s second album, ‘My Everything,’ and quickly became a big hit. The song even made its way into the top 10 in several countries, eventually going triple platinum. Since then, they have teamed up for many other projects, and it looks like there is a lot more coming down the line.

The Weeknd, recently, hinted at more collaborations with Ariana Grande, right after they hit a new milestone on Spotify together.

The Weeknd and Ariana Grande recently made history as the first male-female duo on Spotify to have three songs with over one billion streams. The ‘Blinding Lights’ singer shared this achievement on his Instagram, adding a cheeky hint by writing, "just the beginning," while tagging Grande. And there could not have been a clearer sign of more collaborations being on the way. It felt just like the hints he dropped before their second collaboration.

Six years after their first song together, The Weeknd posted a short audio clip that sounded like ‘Save Your Tears,’ but with a female voice added. All he did was tag Ariana Grande. He offered no other information. This made fans go wild with speculation about a new remix. Their last collaboration was just last year for a remix of The Weeknd's 2016 hit ‘Die for You,’ which in a way ended Grande's musical hiatus.

In a makeup tutorial posted to her beauty brand, R.E.M. Beauty's, YouTube in May 2022, Ariana Grande took part in a little Q&A session. When the question every true fan had been waiting for came up- the seventh album- Grande was pretty clear, saying, "The truth is, I have not begun an album." She explained that she was focusing all her energy on the movie adaptation, Wicked, which has recently hit theaters.

"I am spending all my time with Glinda,” said Grande. And it was a good call. Her album 'Eternal Sunshine', which broke her album-making hiatus, did not get much attention in the awards circuit. But with Wicked, she is already in the line to winning the Virtuoso Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Fans are even dreaming of an Oscar for her. Now with a potential collaboration with The Weeknd coming, Ariana Grande might be finally on track to get the music credit she deserves as well.
