From having some amazing opening acts to giving her fans the Barbie land they had always dreamed of, the tour rose beyond everybody&#8217;s expectations.
With people all over the world traveling just to catch a glimpse of the star, it makes sense that the tour had an economic impact that surpassed some of the biggest film franchises like Harry Potter, Star Wars, and more.
<h2>Taylor Swift&#8217;s Eras Tours projected economic impact</h2>
While Taylor Swift just wrapped up the first leg of her tour, she already has plans for a world tour. It is said to consist of 84 concerts all over the world. <a href="https://themessenger.com/business/taylor-swift-eras-tour-80-billion-global-economic-impact-exclusive" target="_blank" rel="noopener">According to reports from The Messenger,</a> her recently completed &#8216;Eras&#8217; concerts had exceeded $10 billion in ticket sales, merch, and more. However, economist Ed Tityakian told the publication that there was a huge possibility that her next tour could bring in &#8220;$55 billion to $80 billion&#8221; in total economic impact.

He went on to say that the total would be calculated based on the money spent on &#8220;tickets to hotels and MPC.&#8221; While the total may be miles apart from the one US Travel Association predicted, it could go either way. But given the star&#8217;s fanbase, it is extremely likely that she will end up crossing the predicted economic impact her concerts are supposed to have.

If the 33-year-old pop star does manage to reach $80 billion, she could overtake some of the biggest film franchises in the world.
<h2>Taylor Swift could surpass the box office&#8217;s biggest hits</h2>
With the predictions for Taylor Swift&#8217;s upcoming world tour, it looks like she could be going down in history as the only singer to have overtaken the box office&#8217;s biggest hits. From Marvel films to the Harry Potter and Star Wars franchises, the highest-grossing film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens earned a little over $2 billion at the box office, which is nowhere close to Swift&#8217;s predicted $80 billion.
