Keeping in one hundred in the land, sea, and sky, the fate of Taylor Swift's latest album is under a golden spotlight. Just like her chorus gets stuck in the head after a single play, 'The Life of a Showgirl' also finds itself stuck in a great place: the top of the music charts. Swift's new album glides through the charts in slow-motion, but like fireworks that cannot be ignored. She makes impossible records like plucking stars out of the sky, and in a not-so-surprising turn of events, the pop titan has done it again.

The showgirl's spell has not come to an end yet, as Ophelia's fate is about to be changed.

God hath given Taylor Swift one record, and she makes herself another. For those who got the reference, enough Shakespeare for the day, and for those who did not, greater news awaits. Swift's 'The Life of a Showgirl' and its lead single 'The Fate of Ophelia' have settled at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Hot 100, respectively, for four consecutive weeks. Showing no signs of evacuating the No. 1 position, Swift has become the first musician to debut at the top of the most competitive music charts, as confirmed by Billboard.

Taylor Swift’s 12th album not only entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1 but also obliterated records. It is very likely that both the album and the song will still be on top when the next Billboard update occurs. The significance lies not only in the simultaneous arrival at the top of both charts but also in her unbeatable presence there with no significant competition. If she camps at No. 1 for a few more weeks straight, she will be making history, becoming the first artist to achieve that feat, beating Morgan Wallen with eight weeks. However, 'The Fate of Ophelia' is not her first single to have catapulted to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has remained there for several weeks.

Taylor Swift's chart domination is no joke

In nearly two decades of creating melodies and memories for millions of ears for their heartbreaks, captions, or daily affirmations, Taylor Swift made her music land at the zenith of every music chart there is. Swift's songs 'Blank Space,' 'Anti-Hero,' 'Cruel Summer,' and 'Shake It Off' have also been at the top of the Hot 100 for quite a while. Now Swift has more No. 1 albums in the US, beating Drake and Jay-Z, following the mammoth 4 million units of 'The Life of a Showgirl.' With new releases and her brand-new flashy era, Swift not only builds her catalogue but also creates a new benchmark for modern pop artists to look up to.
