Not many artists hear Taylor Swift say she is "envious" of their songwriting. But that is exactly what she said during her acceptance speech at the Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony while praising Sombr. Shane Michael Boose, better known as Sombr, recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he reflected on the moment and shyly called the compliment an "honor."

“I can’t believe it. That’s crazy. I'm so grateful for her. That's really such an honour,” he said on the show.

Apart from saying she was envious of Sombr's songwriting, Taylor Swift declared that the singer would top her Spotify Wrapped this year. She even called him the "future" of the music industry while praising his songs. So, it is no surprise, then, that she chose him to perform her songs at one of the biggest moments of her career.

Speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Sombr admitted he felt a lot of pressure after Swift gave him the freedom to choose which songs to perform at the Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony. He ultimately picked her 2020 hit 'Cardigan' and 2010 track 'Dear John.' Now, soon after his performance at the event and shows, he headed back to work on his new song.
