As Jackson's farewell became one of country music's biggest events of the year, the evening featured far more than one emotional tribute.

A legendary career comes full circle in Nashville

Alan Jackson's retirement concert returned him to Nashville, the city where his career first took off. The sold-out event featured appearances from Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, George Strait, Carrie Underwood, Lainey Wilson, Little Big Town, Thomas Rhett, Jake Owen, Jon Pardi, and Lee Ann Womack. The concert was also filmed for NBC's upcoming primetime special, Alan Jackson: The Last Show, which will stream on Peacock after its television premiere.

The farewell comes years after Jackson revealed he had been diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, an inherited neurological condition that has affected his balance and mobility. Although he was diagnosed in 2011, he publicly shared the news a decade later during a 2021 appearance on the Today show.

"I know I'm stumbling around on stage. And now I'm having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone," reflecting on the challenges of performing, Jackson said.
