Taylor Swift may be one of the biggest celebrities with a hectic schedule, but that does not stop her from doing a kind gesture. The Grammy-winning singer has always made philanthropy a priority and has a long history of lending a helping hand to those in need. Earlier in 2025, Swift donated to L.A. wildfire relief efforts, and later in December, she contributed $1 million to the American Heart Association.

And she has continued her efforts to help as many people as she can with her earnings. Most recently, the singer took some time to appreciate a real-life hero who risked her life to save others. The mother of three sustained several injuries while trying to save teenagers who had been involved in an accident.

As reported by The Daily Mail and PEOPLE, Taylor Swift made a donation of $50,000 to the GoFundMe set up for the mother of three, Ashley Taunton. The Connecticut native, Taunton, was driving on I-95 South in Rhode Island with her youngest daughter when she noticed an accident and pulled over to help. It was a group of three teenagers in a car that had hydroplaned due to the wet and slippery road. 

As Taunton helped the teens out, another vehicle hydroplaned and came toward them. The mother of three quickly pushed the teenager named Vinny, who was closest to her, to safety before getting struck by the vehicle that had hydroplaned. She sustained severe injuries, including bilateral internal carotid artery dissection, liver and spleen lacerations, multiple rib fractures, and a ruptured diaphragm, and was admitted to Rhode Island Hospital.

Her daughter stayed by her side as the rescuers arrived at the scene. Much later, Ashley realized that Vinny, whose life she had saved earlier, was actually the son of her longtime friend, Jamie O’Rourke. The families found out when O’Rourke saw Taunton’s husband and daughter at the hospital. While Taunton slowly recovered after her surgeries, the Meal Train donation had gathered over $16,000 for her. And the GoFundMe set up with help from her husband had gathered $64,000, of which Swift was reportedly one of the donors.

Now, this was not surprising since Swift has always shown her giving spirit, having recently donated millions along with Travis Kelce for her wedding.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce made headlines this year after tying the knot in July at Madison Square Garden. But the celebrations seemingly began before that with a heartwarming gesture. As the singer’s representative shared with Billboard, the couple donated $26 million to charities across the United States. 

The charities included organizations based in the hometowns of both Swift and Kelce, as well as cities that have had a massive impact on their lives, such as Kansas City, Nashville, Los Angeles, and New York City, totaling 20 organizations. While the announcement did not mention their wedding, the gesture was a beautiful way to step into the new chapter in their lives. So whether it is donations to charities or a $50,000 gesture to a hero mom, Swift continues to show her support for those who need it most.
