Now Queen wants him to join The Voice team and she has a special bribe for him.

Queen Latifah appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to discuss her role as a coach on The Voice and the blind audition process. The conversation soon turned into an unexpected recruitment pitch when Latifah pulled out a trench-style leather jacket associated with the show's coaching aesthetic.

"Probably would have to bribe you with one of these," she told Fallon while presenting the jacket.

The gesture immediately turned the conversation into a playful audition of its own. Fallon inspected the coat as Latifah made her case for joining NBC's singing competition.

Her pitch reflected the unusual mix of music, mentorship, and entertainment that comes with being one of the show's coaches. Fallon played along with the proposition, leaving the idea hanging without making any commitment to a future coaching role.

And while Latifah had a playful offer for Fallon, her conversation soon turned toward a cherished memory involving another legendary entertainer.

Queen Latifah also spoke warmly about Dolly Parton, recalling their time together while making the 2012 musical comedy Joyful Noise. She described Parton as genuine, generous, and remarkably energetic, particularly during their long days on set.

Parton would prepare chicken and dumplings for Latifah and her family after working for hours. She also brought homemade fudge to the set, creating memories that Latifah continued to treasure years after filming ended. Their friendship extended beyond the production, with Parton also sending Latifah distinctive pink letters.

Parton's death on August 25, 2026, at age 80 has since given those memories added poignancy. Her official announcement described her as a singer, songwriter, actress, philanthropist, playwright, and author whose seven-decade career touched generations.
