And a shining example of this enduring impact is seen in rock music left by legendary Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne. Following the tragic passing of the icon, who was fondly known as the Prince of Darkness, his undeniable influence on the world is set to be celebrated by the BRIT Awards this year.

Several major names in the music industry will come together under one roof to pay homage to the musician, as he will be posthumously bestowed with one of the highest honors in the world.

The English singer and songwriter Ozzy Osbourne had devoted five decades of his life to the music world. During this incredible run, he gave unforgettable songs as well as pioneering heavy metal. Now, the BRIT Awards 2026 ceremony is set to honor his work and global influence with the BRITs Lifetime Achievement Award. 

The event will end with a special tribute to the legend, featuring a powerful rendition of No More Tears curated by Osbourne’s wife, Sharon Osbourne. Former band members will join Robbie Williams on stage for the emotional performance at the BRIT Awards, which was also hosted by Osbourne back in 2008. Adam Wakeman, Robert Trujillo, Tommy Clufetos, and Zakk Wylde will be part of the performance as well.

Before his own solo band, Osbourne was a crucial part of Black Sabbath. He rose to fame in 1968 as the lead vocalist and founding member of the band. Albums such as 'Black Sabbath', 'Paranoid', and 'Master of Reality' remain timeless gems created by the legendary singer and his band. 

His music became a source of comfort for many after Osbourne’s tragic passing on July 22, 2025. Soon after, many of his songs climbed back up the US music charts.

As the world mourned the passing of legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne, many fans turned to streaming platforms to revisit his iconic songs. That surge quickly pushed his music up in the US charts. From 'Crazy Train' and 'No More Tears' to 'Paranoid,' his tracks claimed all 10 top spots on the US iTunes chart for several days.

The same wave was seen on Spotify, where Osbourne’s monthly listeners rose from 12.4 million to 14 million. Meanwhile, Black Sabbath saw their listeners increase from 19.8 million to 24.6 million. Even in his absence, the heavy metal godfather's music has remained timeless, bringing fans together across generations. That speaks much about his legacy, which will continue to live on through his songs.
