Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath’s Final Concert Film Locks in Its Big-Screen Release Date

Ozzy Osbourne's final show's movie is about to hit the big screens soon. Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76, following a years long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. But before he left the world, the Black Sabbath lead singer delivered his final, and unforgettable live performance. It took place at the Back to the Beginning concert on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, UK. 

The show was all the more special as it celebrated the birth of heavy metal in the band's hometown. And now fans will get to experience it all over again.

Ozzy Osbourne's final performance with Black Sabbath will hit the theaters on October 28 for a limited run, with tickets going on sale September 24, 2026. The movie, titled Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning, has been directed by Ben Wainwright-Pearce, who was also involved in Taylor Swift's concert film.

Meanwhile, the live concert was directed by Tim van Someren and produced by Jim Parsons, Jamie Silk and Dan Seliger. As per Variety, Osbourne, the heavy metal icon, also performed a solo set, alongside performing with his bandmates, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, all filmed and folded into the movie only 17 days prior to the legend's passing.

Heavy metal fans have plenty of reasons to be excited about the film, and the tracklist is one of them.

The official tracklist for the historic Villa Park performance has already been documented by fans and music outlets everywhere. Therefore, it is not exactly a secret as to what will be featured in the final cut of the film. Even though the concert lasted all day and featured a massive 68-song setlist across all bands, the film will not feature all of it.

It is expected to focus primarily on Ozzy Osbourne’s solo set, the Black Sabbath reunion, and the tribute covers. It is safe to say that Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning will truly be a once-in-a-generation cinematic event, marking the end of an era for metal music.
