A month after raising the curtain on his Standing For What I Believe In: The Tour, American rapper Dave Blunts dimmed the excitement with a sobering health update. With one show already pulled from the schedule, his message was a gut-punch of vulnerability wrapped in the glitter of grit. Although reality eclipsed the stage lights, fans did not see a fallen star. Instead, they saw a soul in need, flooding him with love, strength, and prayers.

Ahead of his Boston stop of Standing For What I Believe In: The Tour on May 10, Dave Blunts recently took to Instagram to share a health update with a video clip filmed in a hospital. Blunts had been touring since April 12, and the traveling has taken a toll on his physical health. He had to be admitted to the hospital again and subsequently canceled the Boston show. While Blunts remains determined to complete his tour despite the odds, he looked really emotional, nevertheless. 

Dave Blunts acknowledged that being his fan is not easy, especially since they often have to defend him to others. In the clip shared on his Instagram, the rapper was wearing a nasal cannula while giving his unfortunate health update. Although he was overcome with guilt over the Boston show cancellation, fans were worked up not because of the show but out of genuine concern for his ailing state.

Concerns surrounding Dave Blunts’ well-being have seen A-listers intervening before. But following the plea to his fans to keep him in their prayers, the social media erupted with an incredible show of support.

For those unaware, Dave Blunts is diagnosed with morbid obesity. According to multiple interviews, the rapper weighs somewhere around 500-600 pounds and has already suffered heart failure. At one point, Blunts’ movements were restricted because he required an oxygen concentrator. While Blunts has had to visit the hospital countless times, his dedication to music is unwavering.

Subsequently, when he announced his worsening health situation on Instagram, fans did not disappoint.

A few of them took the cue and prayed for the rapper’s well-being. Meanwhile, many suggested he alter his lifestyle. Of course, not everyone was as sensitive. However, considering the majority were mostly humane, it is safe to say that humanity is still alive. While the concerns may persist, here is hoping Blunts finds the strength to rise against all odds.
