Artificial intelligence may have already entered the entertainment industry, but not every music and art legend is ready to embrace it with open arms. Some artists see the technology as a powerful creative partner, while others view it as a threat to originality itself. And it is safe to say that among the latter is Madonna, who has never been one to hold back her opinions.
As she is set to release her album, the Queen of Pop made headlines for her thought-provoking opinion on AI and art.

Ahead of the release of her new album, Madonna sat down with Vogue Italia for a conversation. During the interview, the discussion turned to the unavoidable topic of artificial intelligence. Sharing her perspective, the singer argued that AI is the opposite of art. She added that collaborating with fellow artists and human connection have always felt natural to her and remain one of the aspects of the creative process she values most.
“Once you were around painters and musicians and dancers and artists in one place and working from a very pure place for each other. I value that experience a lot,” Madonna said.
She further shared how today's music industry often seems obsessed with follower counts. She believes that these have become a distraction from what truly matters. That is why the singer says that in her new single, 'Bring Your Love,' she has focused on the work more than the streaming numbers, as per Vogue Italia.
“Algorithms and artificial intelligence are the opposite of taking risks and to me that is the opposite of making art,” she added.
Madonna shared that she distances herself from technology and other distractions when looking for creative inspiration, instead drawing from her own life and her children. And it seems she had the same approach for her upcoming album, 'Confessions II'.
Madonna reveals daughter Lola’s role in Confessions II
Madonna enjoyed a unique mother-daughter collaboration while making 'Confessions II.' The singer revealed in an interview that she co-wrote one of the songs with her daughter. And this creative process involving the two was not just about making a song but also about their emotions and healing.
"For instance, the song I wrote with my daughter, Lola," Madonna told Interview magazine. "She approached me about writing a song together as a way to heal our relationship.”

While Madonna remains skeptical of artificial intelligence's role in art, she continues to draw inspiration from lived experiences and human relationships. And that personal connection is perhaps one of the many personal moments that could be found in 'Confessions II.' This is her first studio album in nearly seven years, and it is all set for release on July 3, 2026.
