Kanye West is aware of the controversy around his headline booking at the Wireless Festival. Speaking about it, he said he wants to bring peace and love through his music. And he also expressed a wish to meet members of the Jewish community and listen to them.
“I know words aren't enough - I'll have to show change through my actions. If you're open, I'm here," (via BBC).
Ye faced strong backlash for his comments and actions, including antisemitic remarks. He later apologized, saying his behavior was linked to his bipolar disorder. Because of this, his planned performance at the Wireless Festival has led to sponsors such as Pepsi pulling out and criticism from politicians.
Even amid such huge backlash, West seems to have support of the festival authorities.

Several Jewish groups have criticized his support for West and disagreed with his stance. President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, Phil Rosenberg, said Benn’s comments will not make many people in the Jewish or other communities feel reassured. Meanwhile, the UK government is also reviewing whether Kanye West should be allowed to enter the country. Whether West’s words will ease the tension remains to be seen.
