It has been over a year since Kanye West, the master of Hip-Hop, graced his fans with his mesmerizing and finely crafted albums. For weeks, his collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign kept fans on the edge of their seats. However, all excitement came crashing down when the outlets broke the news of the album’s cancellation. Such frustration can push anyone into making rash decisions, and the American live streamer, Adin Ross, was no exception.
The 23-year-old recently paid $200,000 to buy an unreleased song by Kanye West and Travis Scott. However, turned out, it was a scam. It was the product of AI-generated music. “I am an idiot,” said Ross in his video, shared by Dexerto on X, formerly Twitter. Towards the end of the video, Ross built up further anticipation by asking an intriguing question. He asked, “Is that AI, or is that real?”

Adin Ross’ purchased song was certainly AI-generated, as there have been no reports about Ye and Travis Scott’s collaboration since the ‘Utopia’ concert in Rome. It was only $ign and Ye’s collaboration that did the rounds for weeks. From disputes with the locals in Reggio Emilia to insurance policies and publicity, there could have been numerous reasons for the album to take a backseat. However, neither Ye nor $ign has given out any confirmation regarding the album scrap.
Ever since the video surfaced on the platform, fans have been flooding the comments with stickers and GIFs to poke fun at the streamer.
Fans hilariously poking fun at Adin Ross for buying an AI-generated song by Kanye West
It is understandable for Adin Ross to believe that the song was genuine, considering the recent leaks of Ye’s albums. In September, Kanye West’s full-length ‘Jesus Is King 2’ and ‘Donda: With Child’ got leaked on the web. However, given the mechanical sound of the song, even fans leaned toward the idea that it might be AI-generated rather than real.
Shi don’t even sound real why would you buy a song before even listening to it pic.twitter.com/QG0UjIBzpF

There were also a few fans who believed that Ross was not being entirely truthful, as they felt no one in their right mind would spend $200,000 to buy an unreleased song.

They also asked him why he could not wait for an official release and later listened to it on Spotify. Well, given the anticipation for Kanye West’s musical resurgence, a good number of Ye’s ardent fans would have thought about pulling a similar move, if they had the means to do so.
