What made JD Vance think he is on the same page as Nicki Minaj?
A concert of contrasting political ideas flooded the internet, as Nicki Minaj made her grand entrance to the AmericaFest stage with the new Turning Point USA leader, Erika Kirk. Vice President, JD Vance, posted on X a quote he connected to Minaj, calling her words on beauty, identity, and inclusivity, profound.
Vance put it in his own words and echoed Minaj's sentiments that empowering little Black girls does not necessitate putting little girls with blonde hair and blue eyes down.
"Nicki Minaj said something at Amfest that was really profound," Vance praised the rapper, tweeting a paraphrased version of Minaj's previous statements.
The conservative Vice President also stressed how the last few years had seen public discourse mostly stuck in a zero-sum thinking. This had enhanced rifts between the different socio-political or ethnic groups, according to him. By interpreting Minaj's words, Vance managed to link a pop cultural figure’s remark indirectly to an extensive political debate.
So, is Nicki Minaj now the It-Girl for the conservatives?
Inside Nicki Minaj's newfound love for MAGA
Nicki Minaj attended the conservative event in memory of the late Charlie Kirk and used her mic not to spit bars but to profess her love for President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. She even deemed them role models for the youth.
Back in 2018, the Grammy-nominated rapper came out as a vocal critic of Trump's zero-tolerance immigration policy. But on Sunday's surprising turn of events, she heaped the Republican President with praises.
"It’s OK to change your mind," Minaj said in the presence of Erika Kirk, per CNN. The rapper also accidentally referred to Vance as an assassin in an attempt to praise him.

While Minaj momentarily regretted her choice of words at the memorial event for Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated in September, she did not hold back on showing support towards Trump. She even mocked Democrat Gavin Newsom, calling him Newscum, popularised by Trump, who never shies away from brushing against show business.
Regardless, JD Vance's amplification of Minaj's words not only spotlighted her newfound support for the Republican Party but also her ideologies on leadership, identity, and public perception.
