Kai Cenat has worked long and hard to break free from the box that puts him on one side of the screen while various comments flit across the screen. His latest move, a clothing line, has put him back in the spotlight, and not only for the designs. Some fans say the pieces look strikingly similar to Kanye West's Yeezy and Balenciaga.

Cenat, who has been busy promoting VIVET, his clothing line, recently responded to the criticism.

Following the debut of his clothing brand on September 12, Kai Cenat has been moving differently, not just in terms of where he shows up but also in what he says. Cenat, who originally earned praise on Twitch, acknowledged the feedback he had been getting regarding his clothing line during the COMPLEXCON Style Podcast, and his answer took fans by surprise.

"I like the critiques because whether it is negative or positive, I am able to take it and learn from it," Cenat said regarding the Kanye West and Balenciaga comparisons.

As for whether he did draw inspiration from West's or Balenciaga's line, Kai Cenat did admit during the Style Podcast that through his collection, the inspirations behind the designs are pretty evident. Moreover, the Kanye West inspiration came full circle when the Grammy-winning rapper himself visited Kai Cenat at the VIVET setup in COMPLEXCON on October 5.

The Kai Cenat and Kanye West meet up at COMPLEXCON has been a long time in the making, especially since their first collaboration plan fell through.

It all started with a pair of sweatpants, which, according to Kai Cenat, were too loose back in 2024. This was followed by the rapper sending him direct messages, accusing him of being a pawn, which Cenat read out loud during his stream.

The streamer did not seem to be looking for a rivalry, as he repeatedly explained that he was honored to get Yeezy PR, but the sweatpants were just too big for him. Things, however, seemed to have gone in a brighter direction, as by the end of January 2025, the two were looking to collaborate with Kai Cenat, having planned a trip to Japan to meet the rapper.

The collaboration, however, did not come through due to West's antisemitic comments, which led to Kai Cenat backing off. This was followed by West accusing the streamer of various things, only for the two to make amends again with Kai Cenat revealing in his 'I Quit' video that he had been getting advice from West regarding the launch of VIVET.

 Given that history, it is easy to see why Cenat welcomes the Kanye West comparisons: the man fans say he is imitating is also someone he has credited with advising him on the brand.
