Taylor Swift requests her fans to show kindness and gentleness to John Mayer ahead of her surprise performance during The Eras Tour.

“I don’t care about…” – Taylor Swift Sends Out a Message for Her Fans Ahead of Her Album Release Centered on John Mayer

It’s no secret that Taylor Swift has fans that truly love her. Swifties have
been one of the largest and most devoted fandoms that the music industry saw in
the last decade. They keep an eye on every move of their beloved pop star and
discuss it intelligently over social media. If you are a regular on Twitter, you
might already know how they dissect the tiniest details of the videos and
pictures posted or how they get enraged whenever someone tries to berate Swift.

So keeping that in mind, the 12-time Grammy winner came forward to give a
message to her fans, and it involves John Mayer.

TAYLOR SWIFT ASKS SWIFTIES TO GO GENTLE ON PEOPLE

Pop Culture recently dropped the news on their Instagram page that the Folklore
singer has urged her fans to not target John Mayer. During her Eras Tour show in
Minneapolis, she pointed out that the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is
only 13 days away. For this milestone, she decided to sing ‘Dear John’ for the
first time in 11 years.

And before starting the performance, Swift asked her fans to refrain from
cyberbullying anyone who is in the past now. The American artist gave a long
speech about how she has seen magic happen on this stage and the bond Swifties
have built with one another. So she wants them to spread the same kindness and
love on the internet too.

“I’m 33 years old. I don’t care about anything that happened to me when I was 19
except the songs I wrote and the memories we made together,” she remarked. The
musician made it explicitly clear in the speech that she does not need her fans
to defend her for something that is not important to her anymore. Meanwhile, for
people who are not versed in the relationship between Swift and Mayer, we have
got it covered for them below.

A LOOK BACK AT TAYLOR AND JOHN MAYER’S RELATIONSHIP

Swift and Mayer first connected in 2009, when they worked together on his single
‘Half of My Heart’. Following this, the former duo was seen performing together
several times. This chemistry sparked romance between the two, but they never
publicly confirmed it. Fans widely believe that their relationship ended in 2010
when they released breakup tracks including Swift’s ‘Dear John’ and Mayer’s
‘Paper Doll’.

At this time, it remains unclear if they get along or not, but we do know that
she has parted ways with Joe Alwyn after six years of romance.
