Taylor Swift’s connection with her fans surpasses that of any other artist. It is her enigmatic ability to weave poetic lyrics and melodies that resonate so deeply with the Swifties. The 12-time Grammy Award winner has been so much in the news ever since her Eras Tour began. From her giving a nod to Ryan Reynold’s children to a potential blooming romance with The Neighbourhood’s lead singer Matty Healy, Swifties adore their Queen more than ever. And it seems like a fellow Swiftie has given the fans another reason to love the Folklore artist even more.

A Twitter user and also a Swiftie shared a clip of Taylor Swift’s ‘this is me trying’ from her infamous documentary, Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions. Long known for her songs on romances, feuds, and related themes, her album Folklore in the lockdown was a breath of fresh air. This was so as Swift explored uncharted musical territories and also a more introspective and mature approach to storytelling in this album. 

In the documentary, Taylor Swift described what led to her writing ‘this is me trying’. She described that the song was about people who struggle with a mental illness or have an everyday struggle. “No one pats them on the back every day, but every day they are fighting with something,” Swift described in the documentary.

She continued, describing that no one gives them credit for fighting each day. The song empathizes with those who wake up each day and still try to be good enough. A few weeks back, Taylor’s released album debuted at No.3 on Billboard, making her the first artist with 3 albums in the top 10 since 2016, as reported by Variety.

As usual, Swifties cannot get enough of the clip from the documentary and are all in love with the artist yet again. One of the Swifties wrote, “I cried whenever I play this song,” to which another replied, “same it hits too close to me”. Another wrote, “Feels like a hug through a song”.

Some Swifties wrote their favorite lines from the song. “I WAS SO AHEAD OF THE CURVE THE CURVE BECAME A SPHERE”. Another joined and added the famous line, “AT LEAST I’M TRYING”. 

Some fans also described the feeling of listening to the song, back during quarantine. “Listening to this during quarantine helped so much, like ugh she knew how I was feeling & wrote it so beautifully”. And while some described the emotions they feel when it plays, this song comforts me a lot and breaks my heart at the same time.

Recently, Taylor Swift was praised for her awe-inspiring 45-song performance at the Eras Tour and fans just couldn’t get enough of their girl.
