Harry Styles Confesses He Couldn’t Stop Laughing at His Grandmother’s Cremation: Here's Why

An artist can find inspiration in joy, pain, loss, and even the toughest moments of their life. A heart-wrenching experience or even a tragic death can feed an artist’s hungry soul to create. Singer and songwriter Harry Styles, who seems to know this well, also had a similar experience.

The singer recalled that he laughed at his grandmother’s funeral, a place where the air is usually heavy with grief. Closed ones usually reflect on their best time spent together and pay their tributes. However, Styles, who had a different experience, recently opened up about the incident and the reason behind his gesture at the event.

Ahead of his fourth solo studio album release, Harry Styles appeared for a conversation on Royal Court with Brittany Broski. When asked which places or events deserved a song, referencing his track 'Music for a Sushi Restaurant,' the singer did not hesitate to mention cremation. He then went on to detail his experience of laughing at his grandmother’s funeral and explained the reason behind it.

“I remember being at my grandma’s funeral, and as the belt started, it just went ‘the long and winding road’ (referring to The Beatles song), and it made me laugh,” he said.

He recalled that some of the songs, Dan Hartman’s ‘Relight My Fire’ and Johnny Cash’s ‘Ring of Fire’, which are used in such events, immediately came to his mind. And that is why he was distracted.

“And then I just started thinking about inappropriate cremation songs. … And then I was off.”

It could have been a joke or maybe not. After all, Styles seemed to laugh off and joke about the rumors about his hairline during the show. And the crowd appeared to receive it with laughter. But this is not the only unusual thing about Styles.

The singer also seems to possess an odd talent, which he shared on the same show.

Harry Styles talks about his best talent

As many know, Harry Styles’s journey began on the UK talent show The X Factor UK in 2010. When asked what talent he would show on a different show to gain fame, he revealed that he could eat an unusually large amount of yogurt.

“I can eat quite a lot of yogurt. No, I eat like remarkable amounts of yogurt. It shocks my friends. Shocks them,” Styles said on the show.

This is yet another quirky talent to add to his list. While his musical abilities have propelled him to stardom, the same cannot be said for his curd-eating skills. For now, he will have to rely on his new album to try his luck.
