“F**K all that”- Ye Shares His Two Cents on J. Cole Apologizing to Kendrick Lamar Over the Rap Beef

Ye, formerly Kanye West, is not ready to bow out of the 2024 hip-hop beef just yet. After a brief hiatus from social media, the rapper came back swinging to hype up his involvement in the ongoing rap beef with Drake and J. Cole. Much to everyone's surprise, he finally unleashed his 'Like That (Remix),' name-dropping both his nemesis. With his bars, he made it abundantly clear whose team he was on and why it should make other rappers sweat. But it seems he was not satisfied with just dissing them in his track.

Ye recently threw some more shade at J. Cole, specifically poking fun at his apology to Kendrick Lamar amid their beef.

Earlier this month, J. Cole issued an apology for his diss track aimed at Kendrick Lamar, feeling "terrible" and promising to either tweak the track, '7 Minute Drill', or pull it from streaming services. When Ye was asked about it on The Download, hosted by his buddy Justin Laboy, he did not beat around the bush, bluntly stating, “F*** all that shit”. He also took a dig at the 39-year-old rapper, quipping, “You can’t put Cole & Up in the same sentence". Laboy also asked Ye whether apologies even cut it in rap beef.

Ye brushed off J. Cole, reflecting on a 2016 track that allegedly dissed the 46-year-old artist, although he got the track's name wrong. Ye referred to ‘False Prophets’ and said “Somebody told me it’s halfway about me”, which apparently fueled his frustration with J. Cole. Ye also opened up about why he really decided to jump into the beef on the same podcast.

Ye hinted that the remix of 'Like That' diss was cooked up to ensure Drake’s “elimination”, after stepping into the hip-hop showdown. During The Download podcast, he revealed that Future approached him to throw more fuel into the fire, aiming to take down Drake.Pluto called me, I went to the studio and laid that,” the Grammy-winning artist shared.

He mentioned they were all “excited” and “energized” about knocking Drake off his pedestal. And the remix track served as the latest jab at Drake, who has been the target of diss tracks from several of his peers. Despite efforts to resolve the feud among rap heavyweights, Ye's newest remix, starting with “Yo Dot, I got you,” signaled that the feud is far from over.
