Drake Folded? Rapper Rolls Back His ‘Taylor Made Freestyle’ Mere Days After Debuting the Diss Track

The hip-hop world was off its game for a minute. Mediocre tracks, excessive discographies, and pointless squabbles everywhere made it lose its charm, especially when the heavyweights in the industry were barely keeping the flame of rap culture alive. This led to fans crossing their fingers for a turnaround in the competitive culture. Luckily, they got what they wished for this year, but now it feels like the resurgence has gone off the rails. While most of the disses in the latest 2024 beef have been met with praise, Drake’s latest drop, 'Taylor Made Freestyle', is not exactly winning hearts.

The Canadian rapper recently decided to ease off on the battle of verses after running into some real trouble.

Drake recently got slapped with a cease-and-desist letter from the Tupac Shakur estate as reported by Rolling Stone, , demanding he scrap his Kendrick Lamar diss, 'Taylor Made Freestyle,' because it apparently featured an unauthorized AI-generated version of Shakur’s voice. The estate gave Drizzy a 24-hour window to take down the track, and it seems the rapper decided to cut his losses as he swiftly removed the song from all social media platforms. This whole feud kicked off back in March when Lamar threw some jabs at Drake and J. Cole on 'Like That’.

After a lot of back-and-forth between the rappers, including Ye, formerly Kanye West, Drake eventually unleashed 'Taylor Made Freestyle' last Friday. It appeared to not only incorporate AI vocals mimicking Shakur, but also a digitally-created version of Snoop Dogg. Though Drizzy refrained from officially dropping the track on streaming platforms, he dropped it on social media. What is interesting, though, is that he did not take a jab at Ye in the track, despite the recent shade the 'Donda' rapper threw his way.

The contenders in this new unfolding rap showdown mainly included Drake, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Future, the Weeknd, and Rick Ross. However, Ye decided to jump in the ring, which did not sit well with many insiders. Venting on The Download podcast, Ye did not mince words about Drake and the whole 20-V-1 rap feud, stating, “I’m tired of this guy f***ing with me”.

Referring to himself as “invincible,” the rapper bravely stated he would "tear the head off who ever they thought was in control”. His main aim in this feud was the "elimination" of Champagne Papi. However, it seems Drake is not taking the bait this time and is steering clear of any big clash that could spell trouble for him.
