Doja Cat is turning her Ma Vie World Tour into a documentary with Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. When you are one of pop music's most daring creative forces, a standard tour documentary just does not suit your style. But as technology and music continue to converge in unexpected ways, artists are finding entirely new lenses through which to share their world with fans, and Doja Cat is taking that idea to a whole new level.

For her upcoming Ma Vie World Tour on screen, the star is trading traditional camera crews for something a lot more personal - shooting an entire short documentary straight from her own perspective using a pair of Ray-Ban Meta glasses.

Doja Cat gives fans a new look at her world tour

Doja Cat is bringing a unique new way to experience her latest Ma Vie World Tour from her own perspective - literally. Wrapping up her LA stop at Kia Forums, the 'Agora Hills' singer will release Ma Vie World Tour in association with Ray-Ban Meta on October 23. The 12-minute short film is shot almost entirely through the smart glasses, providing a first-person point of view from the pop star and members of her touring team.

The project is directed by acclaimed filmmaker Quinn Whitney Wilson, who has previously worked with artists like Baby Ariel and Lizzo on music videos. The documentary will give an unfiltered look at Cat's life on the road, capturing candid, behind-the-scenes moments fans crave.

For further context on the short film, the director of the documentary has described the project as something that will give fans a closer look at what really goes into the artist’s every performance.

What does the documentary encapsulate?

Reflecting on the project in a statement shared directly with The Hollywood Reporter, director Quinn Whitney Wilson noted that Doja Cat leaves everything on the stage for her supporters, making the opportunity to build a documentary-style piece around that energy an absolute dream. Wilson explained that utilizing Ray-Ban Meta glasses allowed the production to capture the tour from the inside, experiencing the chaos, craft, and devotion poured into every performance directly through the eyes of the artist and her crew for an intimate, unfiltered look at Tour Ma Vie.

By blending cutting-edge wearable tech with traditional music promotion, the Ray-Ban Meta partnership and the upcoming documentary deliver a fresh, highly engaging way to bridge the gap between artist and audience, offering fans an unprecedentedly close look into her daily touring life, which has been packed for the artist this year.

However, this also comes as a sharp contrast to her criticism of Tyga for using AI in his latest album. Perhaps she is open to technology as long as it does not interfere with the craft.
