Kanye West’s life has always been in the spotlight. From his music career and business ventures to his relationships and family, the rapper and songwriter has shared many aspects of his professional and personal life with his fans. While West, now known as Ye, has often spoken about his cousins, he has rarely addressed whether he has any brothers or sisters. So, here is a closer look at the songwriter's family and whether he has any siblings.

Kanye West, now known as Ye, is the only son of Ray West and Donda C. West. However, he does have two stepsiblings through his father. Aliya Jones is the daughter of Ray West and his second wife. 

Ye also has a stepbrother, Hal Carmichael. However, the rapper does not appear to have a close relationship with either of his step-siblings. In 2015, Jones spoke about her half-brother Ye and his then-wife, Kim Kardashian. 

"If you’re Kanye West and you’ve got women throwing themselves at you everywhere you go, there’s going to be temptations to stray," she told Heat magazine. 

She made the bold claim that she would not be surprised if Ye cheated on Kardashian. Kardashian and West were married for nearly seven years, from 2014 until the reality star filed for divorce in 2021. Carmichael has also spoken publicly about his stepbrother. 

In an interview with The Sun in 2016, he discussed Ye's mental health and said that the rapper was worried about his own safety and that of his family. However, the two have not seen each other since 2014.

"Ye is tired, he’s hurt, he feels betrayed and he’s probably feeling depressed. It’s like, who can he trust? You can’t trust anyone, even the people you’ve been paying to protect you," he said.

The rapper, however, is on good terms with his stepmother, Cheryl. She was also present in Ye and Kardashian’s wedding. Aside from his parents and step-siblings, Ye is also a father of four.

Ye shares four children with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian. Their first child, North West, was born on June 15, 2013. Their second child, Saint West, was born on December 5, 2015, and their third, Chicago West, on January 15, 2018. Their youngest, Psalm West, was born via surrogate on May 9, 2019.

Their eldest, North, is already quite famous on social media for her outspoken personality and often joins her mother for events. Kardashian also often posts adorable pictures of her kids. Back in December 2025, the former couple was seen spending Christmas together with their kids. Although Ye and Kardashian are no longer together, they have remained committed to co-parenting their children.
