Childish Gambino Terms Ye "GOAT" Amidst the Rap Civil War and New Music With the Rapper
Amid the tumultuous era of hip-hop, marked by re-surging chaos and ongoing rap beef among heavyweights like Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Ye (formerly known as Kanye West), and Drake, the Atlanta rapper has not only commanded attention but also earned praise. Following the podcast premiere of the 'Like That's' remix and Metro Boomin's endorsement, Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, joined in to commend Ye for his exceptional talent.
What ties these nods for Ye together is that both commendations come from his industry collaborators.

In a recent interview with Complex, Donald Glover, better known as Childish Gambino, was asked to name the GOAT rapper of the industry according to him. Glover, without wasting a breath, named Ye as the one. Reflecting on his choice, the actor and rapper acknowledged that although it might be “controversial” to some, he believes that the contemporary music scene would not have any of the rappers if it were without him.
Not too long ago, the Atlanta rapper himself echoed some similar lines in an interview with Big Boy alongside Ty Dolla $ign. He claimed to have “invented every style of music of the past 20 years” including the genres practiced by Travis Scott, Drake, Future, and Young Thug. Now, with Childish Gambino reiterating similar lines with his acknowledgment of the air of controversy it could create, it seems that there is more than one believer in this cause.
This stance especially highlights the connection between him and West, who are also in talks of joining forces for some new music.

Amidst the heightened frenzy following Ye’s remix of Kendrick Lamar’s diss track ‘Like That’, on Monday’s episode of Gilga Radio Show, Childish Gambino introduced two fresh records ‘Say Less’ and ‘Warlords’ featuring Ye and Kid Cudi. Not only that, but he also announced a world tour arena schedule along with the song’s premiere.
Even though he teased the arena shows, the dates are yet to be announced. Especially since the last time Gambino hit the road was 2019, the expectations for this tour are already skyrocketing. Furthermore, the artist even announced that he would be dropping two new albums very soon. While it is difficult to pinpoint if the tracks were part of his albums, the details are expected to be revealed in due time.
