BTS has become the first pop group in history to surpass $500 million in ticket sales from a single tour, with its ongoing Arirang World Tour reaching the milestone. The achievement marks a significant chapter in the group’s trajectory on the global stage, boosted by a return after a prolonged period interspersed with the members' solo projects and fulfilling South Korea’s mandatory military service.
For a group whose influence has long extended beyond music charts, the reunion has been as much about reclaiming a collective identity as it has been about returning to the spectacle of stadium performances. Their latest album, 'Arirang', provided the soundtrack to that reunion, while the world tour has transformed it into a global event.
Now, the group’s touring figures place its comeback among the biggest live-music achievements of the year.
BTS makes history with Arirang World Tour
According to Billboard Boxscore, BTS crossed the $500 million mark in cumulative ticket sales from its Arirang World Tour as of September 30, 2026, becoming the first pop group to achieve the feat. The tour is also only the seventh by any group to reach the milestone, with the six preceding acts all being rock bands.

The group’s August figures helped propel the tour to this landmark, as per Billboard. BTS grossed $171.7 million and sold 801,000 tickets across 12 concerts, securing the No. 1 position on Billboard’s monthly Top Tours chart. The earnings marked the second-highest monthly gross in Boxscore history, trailing only Beyoncé’s $179.3 million in August 2023.
The tour began in Goyang, South Korea, in April 2026, before moving through Asia, North America, and Europe. With further international dates scheduled, the group’s touring figures are expected to continue climbing.
Beyond the stadium numbers, the album behind the reunion reflects a group returning with a renewed sense of identity.
Arirang marks a new chapter for BTS
Released in March 2026, 'Arirang' is BTS’ sixth Korean-language studio album and its first full-group release since the members completed their military service and individual commitments, and since 2020. The record’s title most fittingly draws from a traditional Korean folk song of the same name, making their global reach and cultural roots that remain central to the members' identity converge.

Studded with tracks ranging from fast-paced, hip-hop-based 'Aliens', and 'Body to Body' to more mellow tunes like 'Merry Go Round' and 'Please', the album’s arrival is honed by the members' experiences that now extend beyond their work as a group. Rather than simply revisiting the sound that first brought them together, 'Arirang' frames their reunion as a continuation of that shared journey.
With more performances still ahead, BTS’ historic touring milestone reflects the scale of the audience that has followed them through their hiatus and back onto the world stage. 'Arirang' has given the reunion its musical identity, and the tour is turning that return into a record-setting achievement.
