The Ed Sheeran and Macklemore fallout has become the internet’s latest musical saga, and the plot has only grown louder. After Macklemore’s pro-Palestinian remarks led venues to object to his place on Sheeran’s tour, he was removed from the remaining US dates. Then FINNEAS, Lukas Graham, Aaron Rowe, and Beoga followed by withdrawing in solidarity.

And just when the internet thought it had dissected every angle of the Sheeran-Macklemore saga, Macklemore decided to turn the fallout into a tour built around his stated ideals.

Macklemore has turned a sudden tour shake-up into a stage of his own. The rapper announced the Free Palestine tour on Instagram, posting the official poster and revealing arena dates across Europe after being dropped as an opening act from Ed Sheeran’s US Loop Tour. The new run will operate under the banner "Macklemore and Friends.”

"What happened to me is bigger than one artist or one stage. When the billionaire class can decide which voices are allowed on stage and which ones are too dangerous to hear, everyone should be paying attention," he stated in his long and emotional caption.

What makes the announcement particularly notable is where the money is headed. Macklemore says 100% of ticket sales and tour proceeds will be donated to 12 humanitarian, medical, and advocacy organizations supporting Palestinians. The rapper has also said he spent the week contacting performers who have publicly supported Palestine, with additional guests yet to be announced.

The Instagram announcement also revealed the first three European dates, beginning October 26 in Dublin before stops in Paris and London. Macklemore said additional US shows and dates are coming, meaning this is only the opening chapter. For an artist whose recent tour drama became an internet-wide talking point, the response is remarkably direct.

Before Macklemore called out rich artists like Ed Sheeran and got dropped from the tour, plenty of industry names had already rallied behind him.

Macklemore has hardly been short of company since the Ed Sheeran tour fallout, with musicians and public figures openly showing solidarity. Garbage called his removal “sheer madness” and “wildly unjust,” while Kneecap shared photos with the rapper alongside a message of support. Zara Larsson, CMAT, Bob Vylan, and Paloma Faith have also amplified Macklemore’s position.

The support has stretched beyond musicians, with Hacks star Hannah Einbinder resharing anti-censorship messages and Ms. Rachel backing Macklemore’s humanitarian efforts. After Macklemore announced a $1 million donation to Gaza relief organizations, Ms. Rachel separately pledged $1 million to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. Together, those gestures have given Macklemore’s stance considerable visibility beyond music.
