Adidas Clears Out Yeezy Stocks After Breakup With Ye, Multi-Billion Brand Puts the Earnings to Social Fight Against Antisemitism

Antisemitism has been a constant element throughout the feud between Adidas and Ye, formerly known as Kanye West. In fact, it was the very reason why the feud took shape in the first place. Adidas distanced itself from the ‘Donda’ rapper after he was accused of propagating antisemitism. Now, more than a year after their split, the German apparel giant is still making its stance clear against the alleged antisemitic controversies that had tainted its reputation once.

Adidas has recently taken another step in its fight against antisemitism with the help of its earnings from selling Ye’s brainchild, Yeezy.

Long after breaking ties with Ye, Adidas has been making millions of euros off its remaining Yeezy stock. The company recently launched its third sale of the collaborative sneakers, which began on Monday on digital platforms. The proceeds from this sale will be donated to groups fighting antisemitism and other forms of social injustice. As teased by Adidas itself, the new batch of Yeezys will include some of the most popular designs from the 2022 collection.

At Adidas' annual general meeting in Germany last year, Adidas' chief executive, Bjorn Gulden, talked about helping all those organizations that were hurt by Ye's statements. Gulden stated, “Burning the goods is not the solution,” and instead, the Yeezy items could be used to help these groups. Adidas did stand by its promise. However, it seems Adidas' decision to continue selling off Yeezy has not sat well with Ye.

Ever since the beginning of this infamous clash between the superpowers in the fashion world, Ye has made his feelings clear about Adidas. He has taken to his social media several times to garner fans’ support against his cold war with the German fashion giant. From accusing Adidas of "trying to destroy him" to chanting hateful language at the top of his lungs with fans, 2024 saw the beef only getting uglier.

The rapper also accused Adidas of treating him unfairly throughout the tenure of their partnership. While Adidas has maintained its silence on all these accusations, Ye does not seem to stop venting out his frustration for the company. Nonetheless, some are definitely benefiting from the clash. While Ye's fans are making hundred thousand dollars from the beef, several non-profit organizations are about to receive huge sums from the Yeezy sales this year.
