Years before Abloh was appointed as Louis Vuitton’s artistic director, he worked
for Ye’s agency, Donda, as the creative director. He even directed Jay-Z and the
rapper’s ‘Watch the Throne’ album. While teaming up with the now-iconic rapper
opened a lot of doors for him, his success was short-lived as he tragically
passed away at the age of 41 back in 2021.

In 2021, the world got the devastating news that Louis Vuitton’s artistic
director, Virgil Abloh, had passed away. After a rather difficult battle with
cancer, he ended up losing the fight. While all of Hollywood took a moment to
pay their respects to the creative genius, Kanye West went another way. On the
day of his death, Ye changed the Donda website to share a single message.
