Kanye West, settling down with Kim Kardashian and staying together for nearly a decade, was an era to remember. Not only did it pave the way for one of the fieriest feuds in pop culture history that also resulted in arguably one of the greatest Taylor Swift albums, but also fashion looks for days and three beautiful babies one of whom has arisen as the Queen of TikTok. When Kim Kardashian filed for a divorce in 2021, it was nothing short of a paradigm shift. Therefore, we do not blame Ye’s frenemy and Grammy-winning artist Drake for writing about it on his new track. Especially if the track is straight away a chart-topper.

The Canadian singer has released his first track this year, much to the delight of his fans. Since releasing one of his most popular albums last year, ‘Search and Rescue’ is the first track by Drake. And it is a chart topper for more reasons than one.

On the 6th of April, the singer who goes by Champagne Papi on Instagram tagged his tried and tested formula of producers that are BYNX and Sadpony. Although only being completely released now, the Canadian singer dropped a teaser a few weeks ago. The song has risen to #4 on Global Spotify mere hours after its release. It is also ranking at the top of Spotify trending in the United States.

Drake smartly dropped the teaser a few weeks ago, which consisted of dialogues from Kanye West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian on Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Naturally, everyone was interested and started digging into what more the track could entail. Hence, the soaring streaming numbers.

In the records of weird pop culture moments, there is an entire chapter dedicated to Kanye West and Drake. The Grammy-nominated singers, although different, are appreciated for the same qualities. Both Ye and the ‘Search and Rescue’ singer are noted for their golden lyrics and knack for experimenting with their music. However, they rarely ever got along until 2021, when they performed together.

Owing to this, fans are especially confused as Drake leaves no doubts that he just used Kim Kardashian’s monologue from her reality TV show. He used I didn’t come this far, just to come this far and not be happy, remember that,” in the sample. However, his father has reported that there is no beef. But it is not every day that you use your supposed frenemy’s estranged wife’s dialogues talking about their divorce on your track that will most definitely be heard by millions.
