Are Coodie Simmons and Kanye West Still Friends? Where Is the ‘Jeen-yuhs’ Director Now?

from being one of the world’s biggest rappers to the most controversial one.
However, while the world might be torn over whether to love or hate the artist,
one thing is for sure. The 46-year-old has dominated the music industry.
Although the spotlight was focused primarily on him, his collaborators also got
their fair share of attention.

One such collaborator was Ye’s long-time friend, Coodie Simmons. From epic music
videos to intense documentaries, the duo had done it all. However, since their
last project, the world is unsure whether their friendship has stood the test of
time.


DID KANYE WEST REMAIN FRIENDS WITH COODIE SIMMONS?

Just last year, Kanye West decided it was time to tell fans his story. He chose
to go the Netflix route with a friend he had known since 1998, Coodie Simmons.
While it was initially meant to be a trilogy that broke down the star’s life,
only one part has come out so far, Jeen-Yuhs. With there being no news about
another documentary being in the works, fans were confused about their
friendship after the director’s disappointment with the Yeezy creator. However,
the director changed that with a post on Instagram featuring the rapper.

While they had known each other for well over 2 decades, they were not as close
as they used to be back in the early 2000s. In fact, that could have something
to do with the fact that Coodie was ready to push the film out in 2005. However,
Ye was not ready for the world to see his journey back then as he was only
getting started. Although he eventually came around to the idea of the
documentary being released. He ended up asking for the final cut to have to go
through him and no one else.

While that may have definitely bruised their relationship, neither of the
creators has made comments on the situation. In fact, they both just seem to be
doing their own thing.


WHAT HAPPENED TO COODIE SIMMONS AFTER KANYE WEST’S JEEN-YUHS?

It has been a little over a year since the Coodie Simmons and Kanye West Netflix
collaboration, jeen-yuhs came out. While the documentary ended up being a hit,
there have been no talks about the remaining part of their so-called trilogy.
However, it looks like hopes for another collaboration with the music icon would
have to be put on hold as the director is currently working out of New York.



While Ye has been teasing the world with the promise of a new album, ‘Vultures’

the 52-year-old has been spending his time creating content, films, and more.
Although the duo may have given the world the insane ‘Through The Wire’ track

could be a fever dream now.
