While she previously directed the short film All Too well: The Short Film, her collaboration with Searchlight Pictures will mark her first feature-length movie. Searchlight Presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield had also acknowledged Swift's storytelling. Searchlight Pictures, renowned for its Oscar-winning films, including The Shape of Water and Nomadland, has partnered with Swift on this project, highlighting the anticipation surrounding her directorial debut. The singer also disclosed her desire to delve into "human stories about human emotion," expressing openness to exploring a "more comedic" path as well.
