Sabrina Carpenter is a woman of many talents. Though she found massive success in the music industry, she has long been familiar with the acting world and has a long list of acting accolades tightly secured under her belt, like The Hate U Give, The Tall Girl, Emergency, and many more. And it looks like the 26-year-old will soon be adding another feather to her cap by entering the blockbuster hit Mamma Mia world.

The Ol Parker's jukebox musical romantic comedies that enthralled the audience twice in the last decade is up for a third installment, with the probability of bringing Sabrina Carpenter on board this time.

The third Mamma Mia movie has been in development for some time now, and its producer, Judy Craymer, has recently spilled some selective beans about it to Deadline. When asked about Sabrina Carpenter’s presence and who she would play, Craymer replied, “She’d be a goddess or some relation who would look very much like Meryl Streep.” And dodge the bullet of a big reveal by adding, “It’ll happen when it happens.”

Rumor has it that Carpenter will not only be in the upcoming movie but could also be a potential part of a TV version that might be coming, according to Deadline. Though the producer remained tight-lipped, she did mention how the songs of ABBA, on which she created Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again has influenced modern-generation singers like Sabrina Carpenter, Dua Lipa, and others, which could be perceived as another nod towards the singer being included.

Rightfully, Sabrina Carpenter often covers ABBA numbers during her concerts and is also friendly with the lead actress, Amanda Seyfried, who has expressed her desire to work with the singer.

Amanda Seyfried's thumbs up to Sabrina Carpenter for Mamma Mia 3

Last year, Mamma Mia’s lead face, Amanda Seyfried, was speaking to ABC News and was informed that Sabrina Carpenter had been playing the song 'Mamma Mia' during some of her stops on her Short ‘N Sweet Tour. When asked about the potentiality of the singer playing her character’s daughter, Sophie, Seyfried answered, “You know what? Old age makeup for me. That’s what it will be…. I’m an actor. I’ll do it.” The actress was willing that if Carpenter wants to play her daughter, then she will make it happen, as she is a big fan of hers.

Amanda Seyfried also addressed this matter during her appearance on the Jimmy Fallon Show earlier this year. There has been no remark from Sabrina Carpenter’s side, who is very active on social media and often teases fans about upcoming collaborations. But the rumor mills are churning out her inclusion as a very high possibility. And with Judy Craymer, who reaffirmed a third movie last year, concealing the matter only adds more fuel to the fire.
