Dakota Johnson has shared a rare glimpse into Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, calling the celebration “so fun” and saying it felt completely true to her longtime friend. The comments arrive as Johnson and Swift’s friendship has moved into a new creative chapter with ‘Patient Zero.’ Swift and Kelce married at Madison Square Garden on July 3, 2026, in front of roughly 1,000 guests, including Johnson, and nearly three months later, wedding stories are still trickling out from the guest list. 

From homemade Pop-Tarts and themed cocktails to celebrity karaoke and the curious souvenirs guests carried home, the wedding has become its own ongoing pop-culture afterparty. Even months after the couple said “I do,” attendees are still adding little pieces to the increasingly colorful picture of that night. 

The latest piece comes from someone who knows Swift away from the stadium lights and red carpets.

Dakota Johnson discussed Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s nuptials with Greg James on BBC Radio 1 on Monday, September 28, describing the celebration as “so fun” and offering a particularly personal read on what made the day feel unmistakably Swift.

“It was so like… everything she’s dreamed of. It just felt so completely her,” Johnson said. 

Johnson has been close with Swift for years, and their friendship recently crossed into a particularly cinematic collaboration.

During the BBC Radio 1 conversation, Johnson also revealed that ‘Patient Zero,’ her new music video appearance with Swift and Colin Farrell, had been in the works since early 2026 and was a “long time coming.” That description lands differently after seeing ‘Patient Zero,’ which premiered at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on September 27. 

The video casts Johnson as a woman caught in the fallout of a toxic relationship, with Colin Farrell playing the ex whose behavior sets the story in motion.

But the friendship behind the camera was just as important as the drama onscreen.

Taylor Swift also used social media to thank the people who helped bring ‘Patient Zero’ to life, including Cara Delevingne, who makes a brief but memorable appearance alongside Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell. Swift thanked Delevingne for playing the “lusty other woman,” while also praising Johnson and Farrell for trusting her with the project.

The video itself leans into gothic ghost-story imagery, true crime and psychological-thriller territory, with Swift explaining that its stark concrete house represents the emotional coldness of a relationship that has deteriorated. Johnson had previously said that she and Swift decided to work together because their long friendship translates well creatively.

For Johnson, the wedding and ‘Patient Zero’ offer two different windows into the same friendship: one intimate enough to inspire a personal verdict on Swift’s happiest day, and another where that closeness becomes part of Swift’s increasingly cinematic pop universe.
