Mariska Hargitay was courtside at Madison Square Garden for Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs, and she left with a memory she will carry for the rest of her life. Some nights hand you exactly what you came for, and some nights hand you something far greater than you ever anticipated. For Hargitay, Game 4 was unmistakably the latter.

While thousands packed Madison Square Garden expecting a Spurs coronation, what they witnessed instead was the kind of night that rewrites history books.

Mariska Hargitay, a regular at Knicks games, had come straight from performing in Every Brilliant Thing at the Hudson Theatre before making her way to Madison Square Garden for Game 4. She arrived in a black shirt but quickly changed into a customized orange-and-blue "Stevie Knicks" tee, reportedly gifted by Taylor Swift. What she then witnessed, the largest comeback in NBA Finals history, left her visibly moved.

"I feel so lucky, so honored, so grateful, that in the future when people talk about that game, which they will forever and ever, I get to say 'I was there.'" Hargitay said in a statement to Variety.

She then added, "I can't tell you how much I love and respect and cherish this Knicks team!!"

Hargitay also singled out Jalen Brunson, calling his leadership a masterclass worth more than any book on the subject.

The Knicks trailed the Spurs by 29 points before staging a comeback that left the entire building in collective disbelief. Brunson drove the offense late, pulling up for a potential game-winner that rimmed out, only for OG Anunoby to explode through the paint and tip it in with 1.2 seconds remaining. San Antonio then fumbled its final possession, and 20,000 people detonated simultaneously inside the Garden.

As the final buzzer confirmed the impossible, the celebrities packed courtside had exactly the same reaction as every other fan in the building.

Every celebrity who showed up for the Knicks' biggest night

Game 4 drew an extraordinary celebrity turnout, with Spike Lee, Larry David, Adam Sandler, Jerry Seinfeld, Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, John McEnroe, Tracy Morgan, and David Zaslav all filling courtside seats. Taylor Swift attended alongside Alana and Este Haim, the three of them matching Mariska Hargitay in their "Stevie Knicks" shirts. The Garden, already electric, turned into something closer to a citywide celebration compressed into one arena.

Sandler leapt from his seat with both arms raised on every big play, Chalamet clapped his hands to his head before breaking into pure joy, and Seinfeld looked as though decades of Knicks heartbreak had left him entirely unprepared for this outcome. Lee paced courtside like a coach who had personally drawn up the final play. For Hargitay, who hugged both Swift and Jalen Brunson after the final buzzer, the night confirmed exactly what she already knew: this Knicks team is something worth showing up for.
