However, the proposed merger has continued to face a backlash from audiences and several notable filmmakers.

As the conversation surrounding the Paramount-Warner Bros. merger continues to heat up, with people either supporting or opposing the deal, Zoe Saldaña has also shared her take. She urged people to approach the discussion with curiosity and do their own research before sharing their opinions. The actress further encouraged people not to get caught up in the trolling noise or the negative conversation surrounding the deal.

“I do believe that not everything is as it may appear, and it's always good to reserve judgment until you feel educated enough to make a judgment,” she told Variety during her appearance at the Lioness' Season 3 premiere in New York City.

“If there's noise to not listen to, it's the trolling noise. It's doing the research on your own and trying to educate yourself and understand why something works and why it doesn't before we jump on a headline or a sound bite and we amplify a very negative message that can actually become harmful,” she further added.

During her interview, the actress also shared that she herself has been researching and asking people she knows from the industry about their stance and trying to understand the situation. But unlike Saldaña, many have openly shared their take on the merger. Nearly 1,400 actors, directors, and several Hollywood stars have signed an open letter opposing the merger, as per the BBC.

The signees include Emma Thompson, Javier Bardem, Ben Stiller, and more notable names have reportedly continued to join. Many argued against the industry consolidation. Some of the issues raised by these groups are that the merger could mean fewer movies and jobs in the industry.
